Clos Ibai is a unique, small-scale project launched in 2014 in the Rioja Alavesa, the cooler, higher elevations of the Rioja. Ibai means river in Basque, a tribute to the Ebro, the dominant river in the Rioja.
VINIFICATION
Made primarily from the Viura grape variety (90%), with a small amount of other native varieties. It comes from old, organically farmed vines planted on 450-meter-high terraces on calcareous clay soils and is vinified with hand-picked, whole-bunch grapes. The wine ages for 10 months in flex-tank egg-shaped vats.
