An herbal liqueur from Ibiza with cult status.It is thanks to the inventive and entrepreneurial spirit of Juan Marí Mayan that the Hierbas Ibicencas of Ibiza and Formentera enjoy true cult status and are now conquering the bars of this world as well. The name Hierbas Ibicencas (= Ibizan herbs) has even been protected since 1997 so that there are no cheap imitations of the herbal liqueur. Herbs find the best growing conditions on the duo of islands in the Mediterranean, so it seems logical to derive a spirit from them. The leaves and seeds as well as the fruits of native plants are used.
If you want to know exactly: Contains the flavors of anise, thyme, rosemary, juniper, mint, lemon and orange in addition to other secret ingredients (usually with this type of liquor there is also lavender, fennel, rue, chamomile, oregano, sage, etc.). These aromas are extracted in several steps: during an 18-hour distillation, at a boil, through an infusion, and then during a 15- to 30-day maceration.
The process produces a slightly different hydroalcoholic solution each time. Tasting note: Herbaceous, spicy and fresh with mint, anise, juniper, fennel and other Mediterranean flavors.
