Bodegas Naia is a young bodegas, only founded in 2002. It is located in La Seca, a particularly privileged area in Rueda. With great luck, it has also managed to acquire parcels of very old and still rooted Verdejo vines. Since then, with great dedication and the excellent supervision of the renowned oenologist Eulogia Calleja and the great experience of Cristina Bosch, the Bodegas has dedicated itself to the Verdejo, which finds here ideal conditions and rises to the best form.
VINIFICATION
K-Naia is made with Verdejo (85%) and Sauvignon Blanc (15%). The grapes come from old vines planted at an altitude of between 700 and 800m in altitude. Given their altitude, vineyards are exposed a continental climate, with large temperature fluctuations between day and night and variations of up to 50 degrees between winter and summer. Rainfall is moderate, the annual rainfall is usually not register more than 500 litres. Climatic conditions favour the natural resistance of the strains and balance between alcohol and acidity in the grapes. For the preparation of K-Naia, grapes are selected on the table and immediately subjected to a heat treatment in a cold chamber, in order to absorb the maximum pulp and polyphenolic compounds from the skin. Subsequently, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and once finished, the wine is left to stand on its lees.
